Breath of Life Walk
Hey you guys!
On Oct. 17th, there’s gonna be the Breath of Life Walk, hosted by breath California, to promote better air quality in SF and healthier lungs. It’s in the morning (Check-in from 8:30-9:30 & the walk begins at 10AM) and it’s going to be located in Golden Gate Park. 5k. That’s only 3.1 miles, you guys (“it’s like shopping!”).
MORE incentive rather than just helping out the cause?
WELL.. The high school that has the most registered team members (registered by Tuesday the 13th) gets $1000! This money will be used for our school and our classes (Sr, Jr, Soph, Fr). Just ‘cause it’s divided doesn’t mean we don’t need every single penny we can get— Because uh, WE DO. Find some friends to register with and get there w/them so that clumps of balboa students can find each other! Also, you can invite cousins, friends from schools that aren’t participating, and the like, to come walk on our team! Heck, you can even bring your parents for a nice long walk in the park =)
Well.. uhh. Technically it WILL just be a nice long walk in the park if we don’t win. HAH. please come.
How to register: Register at www.BreathofLifeWalk.org on the right-hand side after clicking the initial “Learn More” link. Join Balboa’s team, Balboa High’s Blazing Bucs, by clicking on the scroll bar for Team Company and selecting Balboa High. On this scroll bar, you’ll see that there are four other High School going for the prize! Join with the default “No Fee” registration, and I suggest you make your “fundraising goal” zero. Fill out the required information about yourself, and then there will be terms &conditions you have to agree with. On the pages w/the terms and stuff, you’ll have to print out that release of liability form and have it filled out by the day of the walk. If you reeeeally don’t have access to a printer at home, don’t worry about it, just worry about registering. Mr. Cuiriz (rm 114), Brian Leung (SA Pres. PLUS fellow Junior), and I (Barbara) have copies! ALSO, when you register, you will create a username and stuff, but don’t worry about that either, just don’t sign up for spam.
